According to German Manager magazine (May 7), Germany’s social climber agency Heimat (homeland) is considering selling the agency to TBWA. With a profit of 3,7 million Euro in 2013, the owners Matthias von Bechtolsheim, Andreas Mengele und Guido Heffels have plans to expand internationally, for the teams to eventually get their hands on multi-national brands.
In Germany, small owner driven agencies have regularly lead to creative quantum leaps (JvM, Zum goldenen Hirschen, and now Heimat) in an otherwise drop dead media landscape called ugly by David Ogilvy.
