Abraham Lincoln

March 11th, 2012 No comments

Lincoln Inauguration at the Capitol.
Unlike in the above shown movie replica, no signs were held up suggesting the occupy movement against 1% bloodsuckers began in 1861.

“The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise — with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disentrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.”

-Abraham Lincoln. December 1, 1862.

What, you missed that class in high school?

If you aren’t familiar with Seth Grahame-Smith, you shouldn’t be concerned that you’ve missed the next big thing in academic literature. You should, however, remedy the situation. Grahame-Smith is the author of both Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

His second book, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is a different story completely.

Kevin Holesh Special

Kevin Holesh likes usability and I like Kevin for his skill set and prompt delivery

Laughing all the way to the bank

Today money is of little concern or importance, doing is.

At the beginning of the week Kevin helped set up a tumblr theme design for a good friend of mine on minimal brief.

No big deal executed at minimal effort and cost for both, contractee and contractor.

What triggered new found trust in a stranger’s work?

With pressing projects lined up for completion:

  1. Skill set: credible credentials.
  2. Reason to believe: I love Usability

Dillon

This Silence kills
Dillon first album

Thirteen Thirtyfive vs. Pocketful of Money

Voice and fabric

Dominique Dillon De Byington was born a Brasilian and now lives in Cologne, Germany, the album then is in keeping with the Bpitch Control catalogue from Berlin. The later, I dislike most for her branding. More on her in this BBC review by Mike Diver.

Any such unusual and well tempered voice gets noticed immediately in todays media channels and pulls even those in their ban who by all means trust not to be paedophiles.

Signing up with Berlin’s Bpitch Control won’t allow Dillon to find acceptance in the broader audience and labeling herself as ‘avant garde’ or ‘progressive’ make me want to ignore what would otherwise be a feast to listen to.

Choosing a small fragment in our fragmented market place may have an inverted affect and do just that, constrain Dillon to a micro market.

A measure from times long gone, when we believed the massed to be dumb, and had no conscience that it would also consist of strong individuals.

As with David Kitt, Dillon’s music is accoustic music or hipster music with a difference, it makes use of electronic influences.

Tv- and movie productions or tv ads will profit from the ambience.

Laura Taylor by A. Dola Baroni

Laura Taylor is a young photographer and movie maker from Los Angeles.

With a huge following, she has made a name for herself and her “Darling Life” brand.

MySpace, Flickr and finally Tumblr.

70 comments per entry are no exception for what may now be nearly a decade.

I haven’t come around the Darling Life tumblr site for some time

Amanda, Miranda, Nicole, Erika, Lauren & Kyle, Lindi, Lindi, Lindi, Mem, Brandon…

So yes, I am no less in awe of Laura Taylor’s photographs and stunts, with which she understands so well to capture the sensation of normality, and does it better than the professional photographer colleague we come across in our usual marketing life.

Besides her obvious remarkable taste in music.

Now here is a bit of motion picture I found on her site

From page 19, here’s her taste in video gaming:

Limbo

From page 25 here’s her taste in music documentary:

Model Intelligence: Occupy Wall Street

In her latest effort, Laura Taylor takes on motion picture in a series of Model Intelligence documentary films. The film shown below is Occupy Wall Street for the rest of us. A web series Laura is working on with Stevie Levine. This episode features the stunning Miranda Lilley with hair and makeup by Lindi Taylor.

It somewhat explains why young girls now color their hair brunette instead of bleach blonde.

Model Intelligence: Animal Rights

Model Mem Kennedy shares her thoughts on animal rights.

Talent scouts, art and creative directors take note.

If in need of authentic hipster photography or work that works, consider Laura Taylor’s portfolio.

Sleeping Beauty

December 4th, 2011 No comments

"You will go to sleep. You will wake up. It will be as if those hours never existed" Death-haunted, quietly reckless, Lucy (Emily Browning) is a young university student who takes a job as a Sleepig Beauty. In the Sleeping Beauty Chamber old men seek an erotic experience that requires Lucy's absolute submission. This unsettling task starts to bleed into Lucy's daily life as she develops an increasing need to know what happens to her when she is asleep.

Browning said of her character. "I don't see her as a victim in any way. There's something perverse about her ... letting things happen to her."

Adjectives for approval: adorable, captivating, delighting, fascinating, engaging, enchanting,

King Solomon had young women keep him warm in his old age

“Even though its got the rhythm of delta sleep (phase 4: deep sleep) you remain fully aware. Not only because Emily Browning is running around naked”.—Schlegel

This top rated comment suggests there is more to the movie than adoring Brownings marzipan skin.

Our post digital time requires enormous concentration on new business models, annoying survival tactics and consequent doing. We must be transformative – or else.

I feel we all ache for something we desire that may be forgotten in favor of relentless business pursuits. Alas its what makes people want our products. Pure sex, or as Conan O’Brien puts it, hot action.

It’s Kevin Roberts’ lovemarks that suffered burn out shortly after being introduced.

Europe has been raised on french and italian movies reliably featuring plenty of naked bodies. Cineasts still think it was in the fabric of the making of movies of Chabrol, Truffaut and who have we, but it was certainty of getting to see naked ones that made us watch the movies especially in young adulthood. Nothing is more tempting and mysterious as the other sex.

At old age we revisit the stage of early adulthood and value ministration, nature and beauty. We may also find our thirst for knowledge to hold even more pleasure than hot action. Learning curves we used to hate as they were laid on us rather than determined by pressure from within.

“I think we diminish youth [we say] ‘they’re young; they’ll get over it,’” Leigh said. “But I have a huge amount of respect for that passage of life. It’s a lot harder than we give it credence.”

Marketing then is as complex and complicated as is all the magic that goes into making us want to see the object of desire undress.

Sex sells by all means, good work works and even empathy works as Matthew Mayes once mentioned.

Matt is young he’ll get over it.

Cast your vote for Bavarian food blog,
the courage of others.

Vote now, it only takes a minute.

Courage of others is closing in on first place. Thank you for continued support. Two more weeks, every little helps.

Measurer

Petra now wishes to develop a measuring aid for her food recipes in collaboration with Bret Victor, based on his tangle java script library

„The nomination is a much welcome opportunity and stimulus to further improve my culinary diary..

I want the recipe section to be smarter and improve the search for recipes.

I also wish to take recipes to a new level. Widely improve its usability with the introduction of Measurer.

Users can soon read the recipes according to the number of guests they are cooking for. Measurer will portion the ingredients of each recipe according to the number of guest my readers are serving. This should also make cooking easier on the money.

The technology needed, I wish to get from Bret Victor, he calls the library he has devoloped Tangle.

Thank you all for continued support and thank you lovely editors at Brigitte magazine. Please vote for me and ask your friends and family for support here‟.

Christmas came early

Christmas came early: Be the first Sargent to see our beloved Tintin in action.

the young illustrator chose for a surprise invite tonight,
to treat her father to finally go see Tintin’s adventures.

Saks Fifth Ave 2011 signature Snowflake & Bubble Spectacular.

via Don Michael Acelar De Leon at PSFK:

“American luxury specialty store Saks Fifth Avenue has been known to adorn their holiday window displays with static light shows that highlight their signature snowflake designs.

This year, Saks Fifth Avenue teams up with creative agency Iris to add a new spin on their traditional showing, using “innovative technology, [that] add[s] depth to the activity and holiday messaging.”

The result: a visually-compelling three-dimensional projection titled “The Snowflake and the Bubble,” mapped onto the façade of the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in Manhattan and accompanied by a gripping yuletide musical score.
